01. The Monsters Under Your Bed
Oh, yeah! Deep inside, I'm living the lie everyone sees every day. Just considering all the time, we're only as safe as our mind creates. But all I needed was some time to think it out. But now the sun is setting and I'm constantly forgetting you.

And I'm so sure that you will stand the test of time. You'll let it grow to regrip again from that place inside. You won't just fade away.

And I hold inside all the reasoning behind everything you've said and done. Oh, how it's shaped you like a mould. You're falling down now, but. It was such a golden opportunity but now the colour's fading and now your days are wearing thin.

Just think of all the time you've spent. Just think of the whole life you've led. It somehow felt so backward at the time. Just think of all the time you've spent. Just think of the whole life you've led. You just wish you could change the hands of time to make this appear.

So, just take a while, believe in yourself and listen to those voices that say, "You're only as safe as your mind creates".

02. New Arcade
It's late but I will be here 'til the sunrise if it meant I could hold you once again. Another nights gone by, another night I spent outside wondering if I'm happier this way. But still, I break down.

If I could control my dreams, we'd be together 'til I wake up.

When waking I regret to leave, then I wonder if it's all the same to me. Five nights gone by, five nights I've spent with closed eyes, wondering if you're dreaming much the same. But still, I break down.

If I could control my dreams, we'd be together 'til I wake up. Because nothing's what it seems to be; you are my universe to me.

Lost in this moment, forever and always.

03. Airstrike on '04
Outside, hear the sirens soar. It's the distress call you've always ignored. Outside, I never meant this. But inside, it's the same me you've always known. Inside I've always meant it.

But can I look past it this time? And I won't speak for myself when it's all said and done. So, no more acting and no more coming around, again.

And you're left with the same day-old, it's the same deal we've always had. I'm sure you never meant this. But if today if the world did fall, are you safe on the ground you're standing on? Because at night I've always felt this.

04. All You've Left Behind
He makes eye contact with himself in the mirror. He's practicing what to say, not listening to his fear. But she sits at home and can't remember his name - and he doesn't want to believe it. And all his friends try hard to talk him out of this mess; they can see where its headed, they don't want him upset. But she is the one who keeps him up late at night, he's wondering.

And he needs her but she won't take one part of it. But he needs to realise that love takes two to work.

"You just dont see her in the way that I do; she owns my world, all inside and all my galaxies, too". His friends have grown tired of hearing that line - they don't want to believe it. He finds some courage, gathers it with the rest, exchanges it all at once just to tell her that he cares. He waits for her to pick up the phone and she ignores him.

And he needs her but she won't take much more of this.

Love takes two to work, until now.

05. See Me
When I said forever, how long did you have in mind? I'm tired of sleeping and never dreaming. It's the answer I'll seek to find. So, I'll speak a bit softer now, I know I'm not the same. I find refuge in feeling much better knowing you feel the same.

So, I say, "Oh, I can't live without you."

You left me alone in a sea of doubt. For how long is up to you. When I say love, I mean it. I alawys regret not saying it enough. How many times can I pray that you'd see me in the same way? Well, I hope you see me.

"'In High Definition' was the band's first release without Luke and John. We were to record this EP with a label, and both weren't able to commit to such a big project due to work. Even though we were to record some of our existing material, I did feel like I was starting all over again, both figuratively and sonically."

Release trivia

'See Me' was originally written as a joke. After seeing Nickelback in concert, Jayson's girlfriend at the time joked that she was going to leave him for their singer, Chad Kroeger. Jayson wrote the song as an overly-emotional response.

Tom Williams, the EP's producer, recorded backing vocals for the chorus in 'The Monsters Under Your Bed' without knowing the lyrics. After learning the words, he went to record them again but they agreed that his first take sounded good as it was.
