01. Always Mine
Every time I close my eyes, you're the one I think about. Every night you're in my dreams, I know you're the one for me. When I wish upon a star, you're the one that's in my mind. You're always there for me and I'm so glad you are mine.

Every time I see your face, it's a relief from everything. When I hear your voice, I get that floating feeling. You make me feel the way that no one else does. You mean so much to me, I never want to see you go.

I never thought that I'd find anyone as good as you. You brighten my day, you're too good to be true. Without you, it's just not the same.

Every time that you're around, I just can't think straight. You're always on my mind, what a nice distraction. All I see is you. Will you remember me? Because I know I won't forget your smile.

02. Not Yet Superman
He walks the street at night and he doesn't like to find that when he gets home he's just faced with problems. He just wants to clear his mind. He hopes they will go in time so he can get back to his own life.

No matter what he says, they just won't go away. He's finding it hard to cope with other people's problems. Why is it so hard for them to understand that he can't see through walls, he's not yet superman?

Why does he think that he can fly, when he knows that no one can? I guess he's just yet to realise that he's not yet superman.

When will these problems end? He's at the receiving end. He brightens the day of most people's troubled lives. And the problems build each night, attacking like kryptonite. The superhero may not win this time.

03. Insomnia
Why have I got the feeling that no one's here? All my courage is replaced with fear. You're so close, yet so far away and your memories continue each day.

Every time I try to sleep, I see you staring back at me. Insomnia. You're the reason why.

Early morning, the night is wired. Your second chance has now expired. I bet you're happy now, I bet. But it doesn't change my regrets.

I never knew what this felt like, before today. I knew it was going to happen. Well, anyway, your mark remains but lives change. This is not the end, this is what you'd call 'bye for now'.

"For Christmas in 2003, my mother and father gifted me recording time at a local recording studio. To my 14-year-old self who had just started writing music, this was a dream come true. Looking back, I think that, given where this recording experience took me, it was the greatest gift I ever received."

Release trivia

The release was titled, 'A Girl, a Guy and a Grandpa' by their manager and good friend, Layton Bullas. It references the subject matter of the three songs; 'Always Mine' is about an ideal girlfriend, 'Not Yet Superman' is about a guy struggling to hold the emotional weight of his friends' problems and 'Insomnia' is about the passing of Jayson's grandfather.

There were 150 copies of this demo printed. Among those copies were five exclusive 'pink' versions, that had alternate pink printing on the CD artwork. One of the five copies is stored safely at Jayson's house. The whereabouts of the other four are unknown.

'Always Mine' was the first song the band ever wrote, at the age of 14.
