01. Nothing Seems Right
So, what happened to this life I had? I started falling and now it's turned bad. I can't take this anymore. The grim reaper is knocking my door. I have run out of words to say; they wouldn't get through to you, anyway. You can't change what happened before and I can't let you kill me anymore.

You bring me down. Now, nothing seems right when you're around. But still, I try. So, bring me down. Now, nothing seems right when you're around. But still, I try and you bring me down.

I've been told that my time has come. My life has lost all it's fun. All I want is my old life back because in my head, I'm starting to crack. Why has life ended up this way? Nothings fair and someone's got to pay. Alongside with long nights of pain, I sit here knowing I'll never be the same.

It seems the time has come, what are you waiting for? You can take me now, it can be like before. While you're sitting here passing the blame, I sit here knowing I'll never be the same.

02. Aurora
It's late but I will be here 'til the sunrise if it meant I could hold you once again. Another nights gone by, another night I spent outside wondering if I'm happier this way. But still, I break down.

If I could control my dreams, we'd be together 'til I wake up.

When waking I regret to leave, then I wonder if it's all the same to me. Five nights gone by, five nights I've spent with closed eyes, wondering if you're dreaming much the same. But still, I break down.

If I could control my dreams, we'd be together 'til I wake up. Because nothing's what it seems to be; you are my universe to me.

Lost in this moment, forever and always.

03. The Station
So, she says on the next breath, "Stay down for a while, she doesn't plan to miss you again." Still wondering how it came to this. My hands are shaking, it's just another day without you.

And every night I practice silence preparing for the day that I see you.

She's the station that no one watches. She's in all my nightmares. She'll take this personally, but God knows that I miss her. She'll see this as pointless, worthless. I'm a waste of time.

So, she turns in my direction to tell me not to worry, "Everything will be alright". It's not alright, it's too late for safety; it's been going on for longer than just tonight.

Tonight's the night I'll break the silence, pretending to be the one that believes you.

I'm not anything you're wanting and I can't lie to myself anymore. Call this a night, consider this my last goodbye.

Forgive and forget, just please don't forget me.

04. Three Nights and Lightning
He makes eye contact with himself in the mirror. He's practicing what to say, not listening to his fear. But she sits at home and can't remember his name - and he doesn't want to believe it. And all his friends try hard to talk him out of this mess; they can see where its headed, they don't want him upset. But she is the one who keeps him up late at night, he's wondering.

And he needs her but she won't take one part of it. But he needs to realise that love takes two to work.

"You just dont see her in the way that I do; she owns my world, all inside and all my galaxies, too". His friends have grown tired of hearing that line - they don't want to believe it. He finds some courage, gathers it with the rest, exchanges it all at once just to tell her that he cares. He waits for her to pick up the phone and she ignores him.

And he needs her but she won't take much more of this.

Love takes two to work, until now.

05. Escaping the Ninth Floor
This is the reinvention of today. But still I stand to say, "I could have been your everything". This time, well, I'm not going to resign, wave the white flag to all inside. If I wake up tomorrow, I'll smile and know I could have been your everything.

She said, "I'm the reason. So, sit tight, I'm going to be your biggest fear. I'm your nightmare of this season; don't move, I can see you from up here."

So, I'm one step away from the safety and you put me here. And you'd do it again. Well, you can rewrite your own ending. I take back all the things you said to me. I'll think about you in all of my bad dreams. If I wake up tomorrow, I'll smile and know I could have been your everything.

So, say these words. So, now I know. If it wasn't for hours, there'd be no tomorrow.

06. What Goes Unsaid
I can't explain, there's just something about her. My mind seems to capture her in my photo frame. It's not the first late night I've been given. Awake, suddenly driven to see your face.

I try to see your face as you stare down on me. The attendance remains just me and memories.

So, I guess that there is no tomorrow. There's no leader to follow or stay in line. I miss the lost. The last thing I remember was the stars in last December. I can't let this die.

07. Ignition Sequence
Ignition sequence running through my head. My thoughts they still remain still. Will I ever see you again? My chances don't seem too real.

Your silhouette in the sharpness brings back memories from old time of when I used to hold you in the darkness. As I wake from feeling just fine.

She said that, "It's too late. Just try and let this be. Just leave it behind, you're not the one for me."

So, I'm silent as I turn backwards. Like slow motion from a movie scene. As I glide through the final section, nothing's what it seems to be.

"This was our first EP, so we wanted to make sure it was something we were proud of. That meant stepping out of the shadows of the bands we looked up to and trying to create something a bit more 'us'. We were only 17 or so, so we had a lot to learn, but we were proud of the direction that 'Since Day One' took us."

Release trivia

The EP was nearly called 'Hang Out With Your Wang Out' but was later changed to 'Since Day One' as a reference to the band's beginnings.

Jayson wrote 'What Goes Unsaid' in his sleep, literally! He had a dream that the band performed the song at Big Day Out then woke up, notated the song and recorded it the next day.
